Storing avocados has been such a struggle… Until now!

Those thick outer layers of leaves on heads of lettuce keep the inner layers moist and fresh. And it works the same for avocados!
I wrapped half an avocado like a package in an outer lettuce leaf. Then I placed it in the crisper drawer of my fridge and checked on it daily. On day 5, some brown spots began to form (see image above) and I decided it was time to document it. And then eat it. With lemon juice. On toast. Mmm boy.
This is an easy, plastic-free way that probably works on a lot of produce. Why use plastic wrap when you can use something natural, that works even better, and compost it after? Win win win.
