(Mascara) Wands for Wildlife (UPDATE!!!)

4/7/2021 UPDATE: WANDS FOR WILDLIFE IS CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING DONATIONS DURING COVID!

Past post:

Please do NOT throw away your mascara wands. Instead, clean JUST THE WAND with dawn soap, place them in a ziploc bag and mail them to a Wildlife Refuge accepting donations. These little wands are able to be upcycled to clean away oil, larvae, fly eggs, mites, infections, mud and other contaminants from wildlife. Works great for medical care and wound treatment

Pick your refuge to mail to:

  1. Glad I came across your post today. I just sorted through old makeup and threw out 3 of them. On my way now to dig them out of the trash. Thanks! I will pass on the info.

  2. Are you still accepting mascara wands? My daughter was a Mary Kay rep and is no longer so I have approx. 175 unused wands. Would love to send them to a good cause.
    Thank you.

  3. Wands for Wildlife has currently paused collection (see their website) and the Wetlands & Wildlife Center told me today that they have as many as they need and are no longer accepting donations. The Massachusetts address & page (Wildlife Wands) seem to be shut down entirely.
