I love efficiency, especially if it means zero waste. When I need to melt a small amount of chocolate for a recipe, using a big double boiler seems like overkill, and I don’t love using a microwave if I can avoid it, though it works pretty well at melting chocolate.
But why not brew yourself a nice cup of tea and skip on both those choices. While the tea steeps, you can melt chocolate at the same time. Brilliant!
It’s important to note, this is for SMALL amounts of chocolate, like less than two tablespoons. I need small amounts like this when using chocolate as an edible adhesive or to decorate things like candy eye balls.
Directions:
1.) First, steep some tea in a mug:
2.) Next, place chocolate in a small glass bowl and gently rest on top of the mug.
3.) The heat rising from the mug will melt the chocolate in about 3-4 minutes (which is an average steep time for most teas!)
Gently mix and use!
And enjoy your tea 🙂
