“Nestlé Waters is trying to take an astounding 1.1 million gallons of water per day from Ginnie Springs and the Santa Fe River in Florida.
This would disrupt the natural habitat of turtles that live in the bank, as well as endanger a river that has been over-pumped in the past.
But here’s the kicker. Nestlé wants to take this publicly owned water for free, and sell it back to the public as bottled water.
This is standard practice for Nestlé. Back in 2015, the corporation was caught pumping water in drought-stricken California on a permit that had expired for 25 years.
It is time for us as consumers to choose tap water over Nestlé water products. Nestlé owns dozens of common bottled water brands, some that you probably see and possibly drink every day. Join thousands of Americans who choose public water over profit.”
